Top IT providers join Security World 2008

To name just a few, IBM, Microsoft, Symantec, Hitachi and ESET are five on the list. At Security World this year, visitors will have a chance to experience first-hand a number of hands-on lab practices of the latest security technology. Guidance are provided by experts from top security vendors, like Kaspersky and Cisco Systems. There is much hope that the event will be an open forum for leaders, enterpreneurs and specialists to discuss specific problems and solutions in their fields.

Information security now on the rise

In this era of globalization, one can hardly ignore the importance of information security – a vital matter to each and every organization or enterprise. However, facing the explosive development of such threats as virus, spyware and hackers, many choose the passive way of protection, instead of prevention in advance. According to Mr. Sukhdev Singh, Senior Security Consultant and Technical Manager of IBM, risk management is most effective through analyzing and predicting information security threats, before any implementation of security solutions and facilitities.

Hot spots of information security: finance, banking and securities

On review of the security situation in Vietnam last year, the BachKhoa Inter-network Security Center (BKIS) has commented that changes in 2008 will come in flows. Cybercriminals are likely to develop more sophisticated forms of stealthy threats that intentionally attack certain target groups of enterprises. Finance, banking and securities will be three of the hottest spots to be taken advantage of. Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang, Director of BKIS, said: “The online community here in Vietnam needs to raise awareness of online security for one’s own sake.”
